My diary, stuff that is going on in my world. “Where every concept pleases, and only man is vile.”

Somewhere Else

Cover art for Somewhere Else For those that care, I just took delivery of the latest Marillion album. Six days early. Its called Somewhere Else and impressions so far are favourable.

It has already made it to my iPod and will be accompanying me to work on public transport for the next couple of weeks. I’m not driving because the car has been commandeered by SWMBO to chauffeur our overseas visitors around. Ju-ju, Bee-bee and Mad-mad would like to say hello to all of my readers and have promised that they will stop vomiting any day now.

I look forward to getting my copy…although from the convention I’m guessing the highlights will be Thankyou Whoever You Are and The Last Century For Man…am I right?

So far, and this is only on about three listens, I’d say its not quite up there with Marbles. But we’ll see it may be a grower. Most Toys, like Built in Bastard Radar, is getting up my goat from the start though. It shall be expunged via the magic of iTunes playlists I feel.

It can accurately be described as ‘Marbles.com’ I think.. give it a bit of time. ‘Most Toys’ will be a blinding live track. I now have the album on my 860 Watt Rockford Fosgate system in my Shogun :-) so I’m looking forward to the journey from Plymouth to Southampton today!

…And I can honestly say it’s a slow burner. Due to an horrific journey time of over 4 hours yesterday I had ample opportunity to listen to it repeatedly through 12 (count them) audiophile standard in car speakers :-) and I can safely say…It’s up there with Afraid Of Sunlight…Absolutely blinding! Play it loud with the lights off!
