Broccoli quiche



  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 cups chopped fresh broccoli
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 eggs, well beaten
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon of melted butter


  1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees C
  2. Over a medium to low heat melt the butter in a large saucepan. Add the onions, garlic and broccoli. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally until the vegetables are soft. Spoon vegetables into the pie crust and sprinkle with cheese
  3. Combine the eggs and the milk. Season them with salt and pepper. Stir in the tablespoon of melted butter. Pour this egg mixture over the vegetables and cheese
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-50 minutes, or until the centre has set.
